Midwest GameFest

Badge HolderAs part our our 25th Anniversary Celebration, we're proud to announce our new tabletop game convention, Midwest GameFest, Nov 12-15! Midwest GameFest brings the best of tabletop gaming to one event: RPGs, minis, board games, card games, workshops, dealers, authors, designers, a used game sale, and more! The Midwest FameFest is a tentpole event that brings multiple smaller events and groups together: Shauncon, Borderwars, the Gamer’s Haven Gaming Library and more!

Rob KraftThe name was selected by members of the RPGKC from the nearly 150 ideas that were submitted as part of our "Name Our New Convention" contest. Many had prior use or other issues, and so the board culled the list down to nine finalists. Members voted to determine the final winning idea, with the winner, Rob Kraft, receiving two weekend passes and two premium RPGKC badge holders. Congratulations Rob!

The information was first made public in the gaming area of Planet Comicon, Kansas City’s largest pop culture and comic book convention today at 5:30pm. Working with Extra Life's Kansas City Guild and The Gamer's Haven Gaming Library, the RPGKC is running scheduled role-playing and dungeon delve events for the first time at Planet Comicon.

Look for more information to come in the very near future, including pricing, and our Kickstarter!

Weekend in RokuganWeekend in Rokugan is an amazing three-day tabletop roleplaying convention in Overland Park, Kansas, March 13-15, 2014. It is the "home" convention for the largest living campaign focused on the Legend of the Five Rings world. This is the third iteration of Heroes of Rokugan, which has attracted thousands of players from around the world to take part in a collaborative storytelling and gaming experience like none other.

However, while the campaign has always been free to play, the costs of running the show have gone up as time has gone on. This year, we're in a nicer hotel, which is great! But it costs more, which is less great. Normally, samurai would not concern themselves with lowly matters of commerce, but in this case, the cause is worth it!

This is the fifth and final Winter in Rokugan convention for Heroes of Rokugan III. We'd love it if you joined us!

It's a fun event and if you have a character and haven't already heard of this, check it out. It's an awesome game with a lot of awesome people. You won't be disappointed. Unless you hate Feudal Japan. Then you're just wrong. Have fun people!
